it's the 9th week of selling books, the money is decent, well better than decent,i'm supposed to be working right now, but i have to register for classes in a couple hours so im just messing around. even if at the end of the summer i end up owing the company money, although unlikely, i'd still be happy. so far i'm having an awesome time here in iowa, south dakota, and nebraska (yes, i work all three states, and i'm typing this in the University of South Dakota) i probably talked to thousands of people already and they've been nice for the most part. one of my roomates quit early on, and the other first year roomate is still hanging on, he hasnt been working for the past couple weeks since he got a hernia, so it's been quiet back at the HQ. doing this job would really make you rejection proof, because you know there are people out there who are just the rotten apples, and there's nothing you can do about that, other people invite you into their houses even before you knock. what i've learned is that you have to control the controllables, meaning working your hardest to get to the most people, but you can't control who buys and who doesn't. let the law of averages work for you. people say the way i talk has gotten better, but i don't really notice that. out here you gotta deal with evil dogs, at the start of the summer, i used to think they were really cute, but now i just kick them when the owner's not looking. hehe. luckily i havent been bit yet. and omg, the bugs! there are so many mosquitos and these huge wasp things are everywhere, there are literally the size of your hand!
hey, what do you call a room with 32 iowans?....a full set of teeth!
j\k, people arent as redneck as i thought they would be out here, everyone is just so white.
i think i might do this again next summer, depending on how i feel at the end. anyways, i'll tell you guys a couple stories when i get back to california.
